COZY NIGHT for Boarding School Student

Bogor, February 16th 2013,As we know, we are as the teenager, always try something new for our curiosity. But the curiosity sometimes is not good for the young seeker like us. By the high curiosity, we can possibly do something over control and absolutely will be the worse effect for the soul of the teenager. For instance, before being the teenager, – let say the name is Gee – Gee is the good girl but after she began to become a teenager, the behavior going worse. She tried to do the same as the popular person who we called it by public figure. Her parents are the busy people and they don’t have so many times to get close to their daughter. Absolutely yes, the situation is going worse.

By so many cases has already happen, some busy parents choose to send their child to the boarding school for avoiding the worse situation. The boarding school with the strong rules and regulations will help the student –I mean the teenager– to pass their teenager age for being mature indirectly. By being the boarding school student for the first time is not good feeling for some teenager. Some student will be rather shock to face the dormitory life. But the “shocking therapy” like this, indirectly makes the students be grateful for their life before. This is the good feeling!

Okay, this is my own experience. I was born among the –not really– busy family. My late father was the employee of TVRI(Television of Indonesia Republic). My mother is a house wife. I have one sister. She is 11 years older than me.  Whoa…at my home, my mother already gave me some rules and regulation, but you know what? I just apply the rule at home exactly in front of my mom, not for my whole life. Finally for Senior High School my mother ask me to approve the offering of scholarship in Bogor, exactly Sampoerna Academy Bogor Campus. This is the boarding school!

For the first time, like I said before that I was shock with the rules and regulations but by the time going, I begin to learn about how lucky I am for having the kind mom like my own mom. Yah… I love her at all. Back to the story about rules and regulations, my friends and I feel awkward and we are going to be as if under pressure. Yeah, as we know that it was the kind effect of adaptation with the new environment. Finally, our dorm parents try to relax our mind by having the COZY NIGHT in every Saturday night.

Last night, my house held the event. Yah, every Saturday night, one of the nine houses will be the EO of the cozy night and my housemates held the event is like award which is the nomination like: the best couple, the greatest teacher, the best laugh, the most romantic place, the most like artistic face, the most inspiring pity etc.

As we know that cozy night exactly will raise the mood of the student. We are as the young generation, should have our own problem solving. Just like the Sampoerna Academy Bogor Campus student did, they can solve their problem of “moody” by cozy night which can raise their mood up. Bravo!!!

Chinese New Year Eve

Bogor, February 9^th 2013 Student Council of SA Bogor held the event for cheering up the Chinese New Year eve. The event was very surprising where each house challenged to join some competitions :

1.       Make Up

2.       Chinese Fashion Show

After the Chinese Fashion Show, the agenda was followed by Stand Up Comedy in style of SA Bogor. In this turn, the student who is categorized as humorist guy was invited by the committee of this event. This event’s aim is to respect the pluralism in Indonesia by cheering up this Chinese New year eve, put in mind that Indonesia is consisted of so many ethnics, cultures, race and belief. Thus, we are as the candidate of the future leader should have the pluralism soul who can respect the differences. 

Believe it or not, the strong state is not the matter how to make the differences become the same but how we match the differences to stand as the union which strength each other.

Perkenalkan nama saya Sukmaning Ayu Dwitamawati. Biasa dipanggil Ayu atau Maning. Maning adalah nama populer saya ketika duduk di bangku SMA. Hobi saya menulis. Saya biasa menulis artikel apapun. Sewaktu SMP, saya mengikuti klub jurnalistik secara tidak sengaja atas dasar hobi menulis. Alasan ini tentu kurang begitu kuat tentunya jika dibanding dengan tugas dan tanggung jawab saya sebagai jurnalis sekolah kala itu.

Hingga suatu waktu yang mengantarkan kami, klub jurnalis SMP N 3 TUBAN berkunjung ke media cetak yang terletak di Surabaya. Tepatnya di gedung Graha Pena Surabaya. Pengalaman yang luar biasa hebatnya ketika tak tahu mengapa jiwa saya ikut terpanggil untuk menjadi seorang wartawan kelak.

Ayah saya dulunya bekerja sebagai karyawan teknisi TVRI Surabaya. Hal ini membuat lingkungan keluarga saya sangat kental dengan kosa kata mengenai media. Ibu saya seorang ibu rumah tangga yang hobi menonoton siaran berita. Sewaktu kecil, saya senang berandai-andai untuk menjadi penyiar berita seperti presenter yang sering ibu tonton setiap harinya. Namun, niat itu saya urungkan karena saya adalah tipe orang paling gampang grogi jika harus berhadapan dengan orang banyak.

Sewaktu awal SMP, saya bahkan tidak pernah memiliki rencana tentang cita-cita saya. Jika ketika SD saya ditanya mengenai cita-cita dan saya menjawab: “masih dikejar!” maka ibu saya hanya terkagum-kagum dengan jawaban saya atas dasar jawaban tersebut menurut beliau sangat kritis dan rasional, berbanding terbalik ketika saya duduk di bangku SMP dengan pertanyaan dan jawaban yang sama, maka ibu saya benar-benar berasumsi bahwa saya tidak memiliki cita-cita. Kemudian kakak perempuan saya menyarankan saya untuk menetapkan cita-cita saya mulai detik itu juga. Jujur saya bingung harus menjawab apa kala itu. Sementara ibu dan kakak saya sangat berharap kalau saja saya bercita-cita ingin menjadi dokter.

Ketika saya lulus SMP, Tuhan berencana lain dengan takdirnya yang mengantarkan saya ke sekolah saya yang sekarang. SMA SAMPOERNA ACADEMY BOGOR CAMPUS. Berita ini menurut saya adalah anugrah Tuhan yang tiada terkira. Sebab, di sekolah ini saya benar-benar beruntung dengan merasakan kurikulum Internasional yang belum tentu saya dapatkan di sekolah lain.

Cerita saya tentang SMA SAMPOERNA Academy Bogor Campus tentu tidak sampai di sini saja. Di sekolah saya ini, saya benar-benar merasakan atmosphere yang berbeda dibanding ketika dulu saya bersekolah. Jika di sekolah saya yang dulu saya mungkin hanya berteman dengan orang-orang satu suku, kini saya bisa berteman dengan banyak orang yang datang dari berbagai latar belakang meliputi suku,budaya,agama, adat dan kebiasaan. Perbedaan ini membuat kami para siswa siswi SMA Sampoerna menjadi beljar banyak tentang pentingnya toleransi dan keterbukaan antar suku,agama,ras dan lain-lain.

Di sekolah saya sekarang juga memiliki sistem yang berbeda dengan sekolah-sekolah pada umumnya. Jika di sekolah pada umumnya sering dijumpai kata-kata ekstrakulikuler, sekolah saya tidak mengenal kata itu. Di sekolah saya lebih poper dikenal dengan nama LLL (Live Long Learning). LLL ini merupakan ekstensi dari ekstrakulikuler di sekolah pada umumnya. Jadi kita tidak hanya ikut ekstrakulikuler untuk mengisi kegiatan di sore hari saja, melainkan kita juga melakukan refleksi diri yang bertujuan menganalisis, mengkritik kekurangan kita sendiri dan kemudian berusaha mencari solusi pemecahannya. Cara ini terbukti efektif untuk membangun karaketr anak bangsa yang bisa mengintrospeksi diri dan memiliki kesadaran diri untuk berubah hingga kemudian menjadi insane yang lebih baik.
